COURSE DESCRIPTION: (Continuation of MATH 1325) In this course, application of differential equations, functions of several variables, Lagrange Multipliers, Least Squares Modeling, multiple integrals, and infinite series will be covered. Basic concepts are related to multivariable calculus.

ASSESSMENTS: Prior to enrolling in this course, the student must demonstrate eligibility to enroll in the following: MATH 1376, or higher.
PREREQUISITE: MATH 1325
TEXTBOOK AND SUPPLEMENTS:
- Online courses: Calculus with Applications, Lial / Greenwell / Ritchey, 11th edition, Pearson Education. ISBN#: 9780133886832 with an Access code for MyMathlab at Collin bookstore.
- Required Graphing Calculators are: TI 83 or TI 84 series, TI 86 or non-CAS TI-inspire.
You can buy a new textbook from Collin's bookstores or from Pearson publisher links to an external site. You need to have an access code to MyMathlab in order to be able to do HW assignments and exams.
Instructions on how to enroll yourself in MyMathlab:
- Go to www.mymathlab.com
- Click on Have a Class Key link, fill in the class key in the pop-up window.
- Create a username and password for yourself and make sure you use your Cougar email as your official email address.
- You log in using your username and password and the Class key given in your CANVAS.
COURSE MEASURABLE LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course the students should be able to do the following:
- Evaluate definite, indefinite and improper integrals including application to finding areas, consumer and producer’s surpluses and volumes of solids.
- Use partial derivatives to determine local and absolute extrema with applications to continuous money flow, Lagrange Multipliers, and total differentials.
- Solve double integrals, separable and first-order differential equations and find initial value problems.
- Find geometric and infinite series.
- Solve annuity and amortization problems with applications to business and economics.
- Read assigned material as assigned in the course calendar.
- Watch all video lectures as assigned in the course calendar.
- Work and submit all assigned homework problems posted in MyMathlab.
- Complete and submit on time the four HW posted in MyMathlab.
- Complete and submit on time the four Exams posted in MyMathlab.
- Complete and submit on time the final exam posted in MyMathlab.

The lowest grade of exams 1,2,3 and 4 will be dropped.
Final exam grade will not be dropped under any circumstances.
All exams and final exam should be taken within a two-three day time period assigned in Academic Calendar.

*Questions in Exams #1, #2, #3 and #4 are similar to the HW problems.
* Questions in Final exam are similar to the Final Exam Review questions.
Makeup Policy: Every student is expected to take all exams and submit all HW/labs according to the course Calendar. No makeup is allowed under any circumstances and a zero grade will be assigned to every missed exam or HW. Your grade will be assigned based on the average of the above tasks.
Course Repeat Policy:
You may repeat this course only once after receiving a grade, including W.
If you drop this class on or before census day, it will not count against you.
To drop this class, you need to do the following:
1- Attain a Drop/Add sheet from the registrar's office;
2- Turn in the completed form to the office of Admission and Records 972-881-5710 on or prior to the drop deadline date;
3- All students will receive an F if they do not finish this class and do not withdraw on or prior to the drop deadline date.

Before you take each exam:
- Do the homework both on MyMathlab and textbook,
- Do the HW at home or in the Math Lab,
- Review homework problems,
- Use the Math Lab, Access office, and MyMathlab for tutoring,
- Take exams according to the course calendar.
We do not meet at all, but you are welcomed to see me in my office with an appointment. There are no actual lectures to attend.
Watching the DVD series and completing all course material according to the course calendar are expected of all students. If a student is unable to enroll online in MyMathlab or unable to access course material in CANVAS, it is his/her responsibility to contact Help Desk to resolve the issues. Please see the schedule of classes for the last day to withdraw.
RELIGIOUS HOLY DAYS:
In accordance with section 51.911 of the Texas Education Code, the college will allow a student who is absent from class for the observance of a religious holy day to take an examination or complete an assignment scheduled for that day within a reasonable time. A copy of the state rules and procedures regarding holy days and the form for notification of absence from each class under this provision are available from the Admissions and Records Office.
COURSE REPEAT POLICY:
All students may repeat this course only once after receiving a grade, including W. For example students who have taken this course twice have to choose a different course to take after two trials.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS/COURSE CONTENT:
The student will be responsible for knowing all definitions and statements of theorems for each section outlined in the following modules.
MODULE 1: INTEGRATION AND ITS APPLICATIONS
The student will be able to:
- Learn about anti-derivatives and indefinite integrals.
- Learn integration by substitution.
- Learn about definite integral and area.
- Evaluate definite integrals using the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.
- Find the area between two curves.
- Find the average value of a function.
MODULE 2: TECHNIQUES OF INTEGRATION, FURTHER APPLICATIONS, AND INTRODUCTION TO FUNCTIONS OF SEVERAL VARIABLES
The student will be able to:
- Learn integration by parts.
- Find volume.
- Learn about continuous money flow.
- Solve improper integrals.
- Learn equations and functions of several variables, surfaces, and level curves.
MODULE 3: MULTIVARIABLE CALCULUS, DOUBLE INTEGRALS, AND THEIR APPLICATIONS
The student will be able to:
- Find partial derivatives.
- Find relative maxima and minima.
- Learn Lagrange multipliers.
- Learn the chain rule and approximation by the total differential.
- Learn double integrals.
MODULE 4: DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS; SEQUENCES & MATHEMATICS OF FINANCE
The student will be able to:
- Find solutions of elementary and separable differential equations.
- Solve linear first order differential equations.
- Learn applications of differential equations.
- Learn about geometric sequences.
- Learn about annuities.
- Learn about infinite series.
